In the olden days, men worked, women stayed home to tend to the children and home. Men were mostly grimy and dirty running a carpet cleaner company or what have you. And women wore makeup and smelled nice. This is crazy talk, isn’t it? In this day and age, anything goes and anyone can do anything and everything they put their mind to. No gender roles here anymore. So why must beauty be only defined with women? Well, it’s not anymore. I have a list of boys that take beauty to another level, lifting, inspiring, and proving that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Let’s begin with PatrickStarr. He says it all started one day with playing with his mother’s makeup. He was a chubby child so he used it to contour. He also used makeup to cover hs acne at the time too. Which in turn empowered him. Now he is a beauty icon attending many beauty conventions, and slaying his youtube channel. He also
does great transformations on people which worth the watch. People cry and feel amazing afterward which is something that sticks with you after watching.
MannyMUA is a lovable character. He’s funny and relatable and can spark up a lively conversation with just about anyone. He has an inspirational story as well. He talks about his hardships when he was getting more into makeup. He had to stop going to church, his family didn’t understand and almost shunned it, thinking it would ruin his medical career at the time. And now, he is a full-time YouTuber, inspiring millions of people around the world, his father works for him, and his mother backs him up one hundred percent.
Another game changing boy in the cosmetic industry is James Dickinson. If you aren’t already familiar with this sixteen-year-old, he was the first boy to be in a makeup commercial and for Covergirl at that. It was an amazing feat and it is now picking up traction for other makeup brands to jump on the bandwagon. After that commercial MannyMUA did a commercial for Maybelline. Great job boys!
Alexander Rivera, also known as AlexFaction is making moves in the industry too. He does makeup on celebrities and Jennifer Lopez to be exact. He says he got into makeup as a form of expressions. He claims it is a passion as well as an escape. We can relate, we all have hardships we go through in life, and he’s found an outlet which made him feel free, which was through makeup and beauty.
There are so many other amazing beauty boys in the world that are making an impact, creating a ripple in the waters should we say. Normalizing makeup and boys and self-expression. There are no gender roles anymore and some people may need more time than others to grasp that concept. Girl things and boy things are a thing of the past. Change isn’t something people take kindly. Change is often resisted. Here they are, making a difference and shunning more light in this world and that is all that matters. You boys keep doing your thing!
